About us

The Regional Tourism Agency, called Pugliapromozione, established by Decree of the President of Puglia Regional Council no 176 of 2011 (as established by Regional Law no 1 of 2011, amended by Regional Law 18/2010) is a non-economic public body, a technical operator of the Region.

Pugliapromozione is an instrumental body of the Puglia Region; it works towards the implementation of the policies of the Puglia Region on the promotion of a unified image of the Region and the promotion of local tourism; it has organizational, administrative, financial, accounting, managerial and technical autonomy, inspired by the principles of transparency and economy, as well as by the criteria of efficiency and effectiveness.

The Vision of Pugliapromozione

To manage and promote the tourist destination of Puglia as an integrated and flexible complex set of tangible and intangible values, through the work of different integrated and organized entities towards balanced and sustainable tourism development.

If tourism is a bridge between peoples and cultures, an act of human and cultural aggregation, a conscious openness to the other and to modernity, Puglia wants to be a virtuous, conscious and responsible tourism model, because it respects man, nature, the environment, the rules and laws that regulate the sector.

The Agency pursues a vision that targets leadership in Italian tourism and believes that the competitive value and image of Puglia as a tourist destination consists of its multiple territorial identities, the level of integration between the actors present, the quality of the landscape and the environment and the civilized and comfortable local resident communities.

The Mission of Pugliapromozione 

ARET Pugliapromozione, as a technical and operational tool for Puglia Region’s policies in terms of promoting a unified image of the Region and local tourism, has among its plans and tasks to:

  • contribute to the sustainable growth of the Region by promoting a network of relations and exchanges between institutional participants and businesses,  in tune with national and European policies;
  • promote awareness and the attractiveness of the area through its natural, landscape and cultural components, both tangible and intangible, fully enhancing its excellence;
  • promote, stimulate and satisfy the regional tourism offer, by supporting local businesses and production, encouraging their growth and the ability to integrate;
  • support employment in the tourism sector, promote growth and development;
  • develop and coordinate tourism interventions for the use and integrated promotion on a regional level of cultural heritage, protected natural areas and cultural activities, within the framework of the productive vocations of the entire region;
  • carry out any other activity entrusted by regional legislation, strategic guidelines and by the programming tools of the Puglia Region, also in reference to national laws and to interregional and community programs.
